R&D executives today are squeezed by conflicting demands to boost productivity while at the same time shortening product lifecycles. In this pressure-cooker environment many companies turn to distributed development that includes emerging economies such as India. To date, much of this activity has been to access non-core services.
In corporate America, the new byword is Open Innovation. Do the rapidly expanding middle-class driven markets and pools of well-educated professional workforces in India provide good reason to change the dynamics of product development? Is it possible to source complete designs or "whole products" from India? What are the opportunities for collaboration with Indian universities and companies? Does an India team help or hinder innovation?
If you are currently outsourcing, partnering or working with team members in India - or are considering doing business there - we would like to invite you to a special audio-session, "Expanding Horizons: Harnessing innovation from India" to be held Wednesday, October 1, from 1pm - 2:30 pm ET.
In this exclusive session,Gunjan Bagla will be joined by R&D executive Dr. Atul Goel to discuss the trials, tribulations and rewards of using an India-based development team.
