Interactive Exercise
Defining Metrics for Resource Capacity
Management
Facilitator:
Wayne Mackey
Principal
Product Development Consulting, Inc.
Youve got metrics in place for many aspects of your
business, but some key business factors seem to defy measurement. This work session will
take you step-by-step through setting good metrics around resource capacity management.
Participants will engage in an actual build of a "metrics tree" starting from an
organization level goal and continuing through project level metrics. At each level,
participants will apply their collective experience and follow a simple set of guidelines
to uncover the critical few metrics and weed out those with less impact. The output of the
work session will be a basic set of goals and metrics for resource capacity management.
